Covington Temporary Branch

Description

Join us for a celebration of illustration for children with a story and craft featuring the book The Book That Wanted to be Red by Jerica Guillory and illustrated by Hannah Gumbo. Meet the author and illustrator! After Ms. Guillory shares her book children will make a craft led by Ms. Gumbo. The program is free but space is limited. Please register. This program is offered in partnership with the St. Tammany Art Association and their spring show titled Illus•trate. Books will be available for purchase and for signing. Please note that Fruit Loop cereal will be used in the craft. Please call the branch for details. Please inform the librarian of any food allergies at least one week in advance. We are happy to make accommodations for you. No food will be served. Children ages 9 and under may not be left unattended at the St. Tammany Parish Library.

"Please do tell me, if you could, how the simplest things are often misunderstood. Try as we may, to be loud and clear, what we say, isn't always what they hear. Join a little book who sets out on an adventure based on what he always heard his Mama say... only to find out, what she meant, was something else entirely!"
