Witness to Change - Community Conversations on Coastal Impacts

6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Covington Branch

Description

Join us for a discussion of Elizabeth Rush's book Rising: Dispatches from the New American Shore. This timely book chronicles the devastating effects of climate change on coastal communities in the United States. Through detailed interviews and research, Rush provides a window into the human cost of rising sea levels and changing weather patterns.

Witness to Change is an on-going series, taking place at four different locations across St. Tammany Parish:

  • Monday, January 30, 6 p.m.: Rising at Covington
  • Monday, February 27, 6 p.m.: Salvage the Bones at Causeway
  • Monday, March 27, 6 p.m.: The Water Knife at South Slidell
  • Monday, April 25, 6 p.m.: Bayou Farewell at Slidell

Whether you’re a scientist, a policymaker, a student, an activist, or a concerned citizen, this discussion will provide a platform to consider the effects of climate change on coastal communities and how we can work together to create a more just and equitable future. We look forward to seeing you there!
