"It has been one year since the breathtaking events of United as One -- and our world will never be the same. The invasion of Earth was thwarted by our alien allies known as the Garde. But in order to do so, they unleashed their Loric energy and it spread throughout the globe. Now human teenagers have begun to develop incredible abilities -- Legacies of their own. As the world tries to figure out how best to deal with the emergence of these powerful and potentially dangerous individuals, the Garde have come up with their own solution. They've created an academy where they can train this new generation to control their powers and hopefully one day help mankind...but that day may come sooner than any of them ever imagined."-- From the publisher.

Generation One (2017) – I have read 15-Novellas and now 8- books by Pittacus Lore. Only one was rated ‘Good’ while all of the others were ‘Excellent.’

I didn't think there were going to be more stories about the Garde on Earth, and I'm glad I was wrong. The shift in perspective between the stories of the Ten and the newly gifted Human Garde makes this story seem both familiar and strange. I look forward to many more stories in this eries!

Months after the defeat of Setrakus Ra, the remaining Garde are forced to join an academy to hone their skills and hopefully one day use them for good.  Unfortunately, with great power comes great responsibility. A saying that some of these children do not fully understand. They use their new-found abilities to wreak havoc and assist those who are intent on gaining wealth and power. Now these young Garde must learn from their mistakes before it is too late! At first I didn’t really want to read this book, since the Lorien Legacies was really terrible (aside from the first novel.) Fortunately, my curiously got the better of me and I decided to give this book a shot. Halfway though, I found myself actually enjoying this novel. The beginning was kind of slow, and the point of view shifts could be confusing at times, but once you get used to it, the book becomes kind of good.

I can’t find the words to explain how amazing this book is! Pittacus Lore’s follow up series to the Lorien Legacies books is off to a great start with Generation One. The story revolves around familiar characters from the author’s previous books along with new and interesting faces. Not much of the Lorien Legacies cast returns, however, this new group of heroes surely makes up for it. I’m sure many fans of the Lorien Legacies series are skeptical about Generation One, but I assure you, it’s still filled with the same content; action, adventure, humour, sarcasm, mystery, aliens, and powers beyond our abilities. I too was worried, but the more I read, the more I really enjoyed the creative and unimaginable storyline. I found that the story started off a bit slow, but after that, I couldn’t put the book down with all of the cliffhangers and excitement at the end of every chapter. With the end of one problem came another equally intense and exhilarating one so you’ll always be engaged and never get bored. Generation One is definitely a must-read. 5/5 stars.

I read the I am Number Four (IANF) series last year and it was amazing! I am so excited that we get generation one, I am hoping that some of the old Garde will be in this book like number nine who was my favorite ! I'm really hoping that this book will be just as good as IANF and I can't wait to get my hands on it!
