You Need a Budget is life-changing! The philosophy has really opened my eyes and made me aware of spending habits.

One of the best financial books on budgeting I have ever read. I understand how each of the four rules applies to every aspect of our lives. It also explains that we shouldn't be upset if we make a mistake on our budget and that in every situation that arises it is a unique learning experience in making changes to making adjustments in financial aspects of our lives.

Fantastic book that really makes you feel about how you spend your money, and what you want your money to do for you. No investing or scams involved, just straight common sense. I also like that it's not very preachy, and while there are anecdotes, they are very pertinent to the topic at hand and do not distract readers. The author covers all aspects of budgeting, including in a relationship and for children. Everyone can benefit from good budgeting.

A good summary (and fast read) of YNAB's four rules with additional chapters on budgeting as a couple, teaching your kids about money, dealing with debt, and a few other things. The tone is easy-going, assuming the reader is an adult who can make their own decisions, and there are lots of anecdotes from real people's lives. It's great at breaking down the anxiety for people who are starting out budgeting. While it does address some problems you can encounter later, it would have been nice to see more detailed advice on some of those things (e.g. avoiding perfectionism, resolving conflicts as a couple, dealing with decision fatigue). The book is a solid pep talk about budgeting that lays out good general principles; it is not a detailed manual to use as an ongoing reference.
