This biographical graphic novel took a legend and humanized her. There is a lot to learn about Calamity Jane and this book made it that much more interesting to do so.

Very good read. I lost some interest when it covered non-Martha Cannary backstory, but I enjoyed the whole book nonetheless.

Can you imagine being this woman in today's times? Tough cussing gross spittin' type of woman that would shoot any man cut and stab at the whim of the old wild west days?
could you be her before the woman sufferage movement and the voters rights act of 1917?
She died before all that occurred and this is her story before all this ladies!! Read her real story.
I'm a guy and I now understand her life how it became. ALL TOO REAL!!
You little girls and little women haven't a clue of how terribly tough she had it in the 1860;s,70's 80's and 1890's till her earthly departure from our existence in 1905. Long live the bravest women that could have learned my own mother to be tougher!! She EARNED her immortality the hardest way ever and never had any doubts of her womanhood in a full on MANS world!! Spit in your eye and slay you for even thinking you can get her down. One would dare think whiskey would give her some form of courage, but sometimes without the drink, sheer guts will do her just fine and would cut your throat without thinking twice. This was a pure frontierswoman at her very best or her very worst! You make the call. You decide. Rest in peace Ms. calamity Jane. May your spirit finally find peace at last.
