"From Florida's king of mayhem Tim Dorsey -- "compulsively irreverent and shockingly funny" (Boston Globe) -- the latest madcap entry in his New York Times-bestselling Serge Storms series"-- Provided by publisher.
Perpetually hunting Floridian arcana and lore, Serge and his permanently baked sidekick, Coleman, are on a frenzied literary pilgrimage that leads them back to Riviera Beach, the cozy seaside town where the boys spent their formative years. There's The Legend of Riviera Beach, aka Darby, a welder at the port who surfed the local waves long before the hot spots were hot. And there's a murkier legend of the crazy hermit living in a makeshift jungle compound farther up the mysterious Loxahatchee River than anyone dared to venture. As he digs into the past, Storm disturbs some long-forgotten ground, attracting the attention of a cast of villains.

The general mayhem and hilarity we've come to expect from Coleman and Serge. Dorsey delivers as usual.

He is Florida's most enthusiastic resident. Obsessed with the Sunshine State, crazy, unmedicated, highly caffeinated Serge Storms, as a self-proclaimed Florida historian, spends his days researching the state, visiting locations, taking pictures, collecting souvenirs, and spouting Florida history to anyone who will listen. An avenger of the people, Serge also keeps himself busy creatively killing Florida's scumbag population.

In The Pope of Palm Beach, Serge, along with his drunken, drug-addled buddy, Coleman, is on a literary tour, visiting locations pertinent to his favorite Florida-based authors. Working his way north, Serge returns to his boyhood home of Riviera Beach, hometown of the late Darby Pope, a local surfing legend. Darby was one of those guys that everyone knew and loved, and his legend only grew after Kenneth Reese, one of Serge's favorite authors, used The Pope as a real-life character in the three novels he published before disappearing.

Meantime, Salenca, an ambitious accountant, is working his way up the ladder by showing his crime bosses that there are easier, safer ways to make money than in drug smuggling. The legend of a mysterious, up-river hermit has kept Riviera Beach kids enthralled for decades, and not only will you learn the proper way to hack a motel air conditioner, but the enormous, non-sexual potential of a blinking rubber dildo is fully explored. And if you've ever been to a book signing, I guarantee that you've never seen anything like a Serge book signing.

And it all comes together as only Tim Dorsey can do. Throw in a few examples of Serge's particular brand of justice, and we have yet another great addition to the series!
