Wow. This took so many difficult issues and made them very accesible. Covers ground with panic attacks, agroaphobia, school shootings, grief, ptsd and just good ol fashioned teenager romance. When she meet the guy and was swooning over him, I was disgusted because I thought itwas going to turn into "boy saves girl" style story. Then I pushed through and fell into the story of who this young girl was. That she was more than this crush she had on a cute boy. That she was struggling in ways that were so real and raw, you couldn't help but fall into her life. The connections she had with her family help ground the story. The crush was annoying but tolerable. I loved the character arc and epiphany along the way. Such an authentic, must read for tèenagers.

Morgan may have survived the shooting at her high school, but the emotional scars have left her afraid to leave her apartment and have led her to cut herself off from all her old friends. When a boy moves in next door and befriends her family Morgan slowly starts to remember some of the good things in her life from before the shooting. Together with the help of her therapist, Morgan finally starts to deal with her fear and also her feeling of guilt about what happened that it hinted at throughout the story. An emotionally intense and compelling read.
