Dinosaur tries everything to avoid going to bed. This is a hilarious and reassuring bedtime story for active toddlers. Themes: Dinosaurs; Bedtime

ROAR! Dinosaur can meet a lot of challenges and win (even talking grown-ups), but can he beat bedtime?

This is a great book. I needed to start this by saying that. However, we got this with the intention of reading it at bedtime, and it's VERY high energy leading up to the final pages where he finally goes to bed. Again, this is a SUPER fun book. But, as far as gearing down for bed, and the way that you feel as though you need to read it, this just isn't a bedtime book (for us). We definitely need books that are a much more subtle tone, rather than something like this. I hope that's helpful. Like I've said- GREAT book. But, if you're anything like us and you need bedtime books to set the stage for calm and falling asleep, this is not the book. Maybe this should be his after dinner book, like a pre-bedtime book.

Story suitable for empowering and instilling a sense of competition. The dinosaur "wins" in every challenge except the one against bedtime.

Daniel likes the Dinosaur series, few words with wonderful illustrations explaining well how to deal with the real life scenarios to the little ones.

ROAR! ROAR! ROAR! This dinosaur WINS and WINS BIG! Boys LOVE this!

My wife hated this book. Fortunately, this book is not geared toward moms, it's aim is to be fun for little kids (boys?).
Our son loved it! (I thought it was fun too . . . for the first three times I had to read it.)
If you like ROARING a lot, then this book is for you.

Bob Shea is a genius. Dinosaur vs. Bedtime tells the tale of toddler who thinks he's a dinosaur and how he is able to defeat anything that gets in his way, a pile of leaves, a slide, a bowl of spaghetti. But the bedtime comes along. Can Dinosaur defeat the ultimate bedtime foe?

Short, sweet, beautifully illustrated, the story book is one that children will enjoy on one level, while their parents will chuckle at on a whole different level. The text also allows for lots melodrama and overacting on the readers part. A great read-a-loud.
