Humanity has been all but destroyed by a fungal disease that eradicates free will and turns its victims into flesh-eating 'hungries'. Only a small group of children seem to be immune to its effects. At an army base in rural England, these unique children are being studied and subjected to cruel experiments. When the base falls, one little girl escapes and must discover what she is, ultimately deciding both her own future and that of the human race.

It's watchable, though barely. The acting is generally solid at most roles. The filmmakers were trying to be more clever than they could ultimately live up to in terms of the early setups and the late twists. Not a terrible effort. It would be worth passing on this for another title unless your options are very limited.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I really enjoyed the movie. It was strange at the beginning at how they were treating the children but later I understood how necessary it was to do so. Sennia Nanua was absolutely excellent in the movie. Love conquers all. It is important to be mindful of how you treat others, you never know who will have to come to your rescue. Excellent movie, glad I chose to watch it.

I love how the film made the book come alive! Melanie could possibly have saved the world, but Miss Justineau loved her too much to allow Dr. Caldwell to dissect her. As a mother, I could see and understand where Miss Justineau was coming from. I can tell how much she cared for Melanie when she refused to let the doctor put her in the wheel well of the truck. I love this book and of course the movie too!

A dark, odd take on the zombie world.
Sennia Nanua's portrayal of a precocious zombie girl is a scene stealer. It seems love and friendship can cross species barriers.
And yes, bloodthirsty viewers will be satisfied.

Good movie with good actors, but some poorer actors dragged it down a little. A dark movie with gore; not necessarily a date night movie. However, if you're on a plane and there's nothing else to do, it's quite good.

A different and entertaining movie.
Pleasantly surprised, Incredible
acting by Sennia Nanau, who portrayed
the young girl.
Don't shy away from the movie,
because of the presence
of Zombies.

Not bad at all. A very different take on the zombie apocalypse, quieter, more difficult in it's way. Great performances from Glenn Close, Gemma Atherton, and - sorry I don't know her name - the young actor who plays Melanie. I think they kind of blew the very last scene but otherwise, give it a shot. If you just want action, this isn't for you.

Despite the unimaginative title, i decided to go ahead and give this movie a chance. The film's approach to yet another pandemic zombie movie was somewhat novel, however that's about as far as I can compliment it. Besides the zombies, the human characters are also struggling against their own stupid decisions and the consequences of them. The plot twist at the end could be seen a mile away unless you were writing the script for this mediocre film.

The whole "kid zombies" thing isn't new by itself, the film "Cooties" did it before and explored that territory far more effectively, and in a humorous way. The little girl at the center of the title is a capable actress but some of her scenes are just too much to intellectually indulge. One scene in particular had me debating whether to even finish the film because of how utterly ridiculous it is. Hint: wait for the "roaring contest" and try not to laugh at how stupid it comes across.

Rent this if you're bored and interested in a slightly different approach to the banal zombie genre...just don't expect anything remarkable. The producers must have played "The last of us" and thought they could spin a game off of that. How wrong they were.

It was a good zombie genre movie!! Not one for commenting on various arty aspects, I liked it and watched from start to finish hoping the goodies would win, sounds like good entertainment ??
