"Deja and Josiah are seasonal best friends. Every autumn, all through high school, they've worked together at the world's best pumpkin patch. They say good-bye every Halloween, and they're reunited every September 1. But this Halloween is different. Josiah and Deja are finally seniors. It's their last season at the Patch, their last shift together--their last good-bye. Josie's ready to spend the whole night feeling melancholy about it. (He's the melancholy type.) But Deja has a plan: What if, instead of moping and instead of the usual--slinging lima beans down at the Succotash Hut--they went out with a bang? They could see all the sights! Taste all the snacks! Maybe Josie could even talk to that cute girl he's been mooning over for three years ... What if their last shift was an adventure?"--Provided by publisher.

A fun romp that's as sweet and autumnal as a pumpkin spice latte! This is my first time reading Rainbow Rowell and I found the dialogue earnest and totally charming without being too saccharine. This is a must if you're a junkie for graphic novels, romance, and all things fall like me!

A funny and sweet story for readers who want something simple, yet creative and entertaining. I loved the illustrations and the clever chapter titles!

This playful graphic novel is perfect whimsy for fall. Josie and Deja have worked the pumpkin patch together for four years and their Halloween senior year is their last night at work. It’s also Josie’s last chance to talk to his crush, and Deja’s last chance to eat all the snacks. Add a loose goat in the mix and you’ve got a candy-corn-esque read: sweet, corny, and unapologetically fall themed.

Josiah and Deja have worked at the world's best pumpkin patch every fall for the last three years. Now that they're seniors in high school, it's their last night on the job. Playing hooky from the Succotash Hut, they embark on an adventure so that Deja can taste all the snacks while Josiah gets up the courage to talk to Marcy from the Fudge Shoppe. After a few misadventures, the ending is perfect for the two friends. This graphic novel is the perfect fall read.

Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks just fit as creators. Their "adorkable" characters capture hearts, and that is no less true for their first graphic novel collaboration, Pumpkinheads. Josie and Deja have worked side by side at the Succotash Hut for years. While their friendship has always been solid, they have both found themselves in a state of stasis, never getting anywhere with the relationships they have, or don't have. But now on the cusp of a great change, in their final year at the largest pumpkin patch fair, Deja decides to push Josie to do something he would have never done himself... speak to the girl he likes. As they traverse the grounds, effectively giving readers the full tour, they try to catch up to their moving target, and get waylaid. An amusing underlying story with a goat even follows them straight to the finale, where the two finally take a step forward. All the great character moments, and laughs, are just brilliantly timed, and illustrated. Take a lovely romp around the pumpkin patch in what will surely be a pick for YA graphic novel of the year.

Highly recommended! I loved the seasonal story, the artwork depicting characters with realistic looking bodies, and the diverse nature of the relationships and friendships portrayed in this graphic novel. Read it in the fall or anytime you need a little PSL (Pumpkin Spice Life).

I'm not much of a graphic novel reader, but this book was worth it. :)

Pumpkinheads is an absolutely delightful, funny and thoughtful love letter to autumn and the people who love it, like me! And I so wish there was a pumpkin patch like DeKnock's, I would go in a heartbeat.

An adorable, romantic romp with loads of autumn atmosphere!

If you want all the elements of autumn—pumpkins, corn mazes, tasty snacks, plaid shirts—this teen graphic novel has it all. A great message about friendship, growing up and the value of paying attention.
