Lori Shepherd has been overtaken by the blizzard of the century. Fortunately, she's soon safe and dry in Ladythorne abbey, the fabulous home of the late Lucasta DeClerke. Or is she? In the abbey's cloisters and passages there still lingers the haunting presence of Lucasta, a mysterious mad-woman -- not to mention the danger posed by an unstable caretaker. When Lori learns of a plot to steal a priceless DeClerke family heirloom, she attempts to prevent the theft and, moreover, keep herself out of harm's way. But, as Aunt Dimity says, "Old sins cast long shadows." Lori will need Aunt Dimity's wisdom and compassion to banish the hatred and guilt that shroud Ladythorne Abbey.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's a bit different than the other Aunt Dimity books I've read. With any long-running series, the stories can become a bit repetitive, but that is not the case with "Snowbound." This story, presented with a light humor in parts, is a unique take on a mystery. I will stop there, not wanting to give away any of the story, but I do highly recommend this book if you are looking for a light mystery.
