Discusses the history and use of the Irish flute, the pennywhistle and the concert flute in Celtic music. There are brief instructions on playing each instrument. The majority of the book covers ornamentation in Irish music with detailed instructions on how to play them, an explanation of how they differ from Classical ornaments and discussing techniques for playing each ornament on whistles and flutes.
This is a long book but useful to any one exploring ornamenting Celtic music. Excellent method of learning how to make Irish melodies come to life.
