Devastating look at angry, controlling, vengeful, authoritarian nature of "conservatives" and how the religious right got suckered into thinking the GOP stood for family values and morality.
News flash: Pat Robertson (who married 7 months into his wife's pregnancy, then lied about it), Tom DeLay (money laundering), Newt Gingrich (porn, mistresses) and Rush Limbaugh (drug addiction) aren't exactly moral authorities.

Dean's next book: "Liberals Without Conscience"! It will be in several volumes, for one won't be enough to accommodate all his friends.

No one gives a better insight into the mind of right-wing authoritarians than John W. Dean than in "Conservatives Without Conscience".

Dean describes what it was like being an insider in the Watergate scandal and how it help him see the authoritarian power hungry side of Richard Nixon, and Chuck Colson and G Gordon Liddy.

Dean go's on to chronicle in eye-opening detail how The Impeachment proceedings against Bill Clinton were viewed by the conservative remnants of the Nixon administration as a payback for his resignation.

Dean has a unique perspective on conservatism and how it has gone awry, he and Barry Goldwater saw very early on the fascist nature of the evangelical christian movements trying co-opt and rewrite, and restructure conservatism ,and the republican party to one that is bent on hegemonic political control over the national sociopolitical narrative as they alone see fit.
