Lisey's Story
A Novel
Book - 2006
"Lisey Debusher Landon lost her husband, Scott, two years ago, after a twenty-five-year marriage of the most profound and sometimes frightening intimacy. Scott was an award-winning, bestselling novelist and a very complicated man. Early in their relationship, before they married, Lisey had to learn from him about books and blood and bools. Later, she understood that there was a place Scott went -- a place that both terrified and healed him, that could eat him alive or give him the ideas he needed in order to live. Now it's Lisey's turn to face Scott's demons, Lisey's turn to go to Boo'ya Moon. What begins as a widow's effort to sort through the papers of her celebrated husband becomes a nearly fatal journey into the darkness he inhabited" -- publisher website (October 2006).

Comment
Add a CommentI agree that this book took a couple of chapters to get into and I almost returned it. Once I became involved in the story, however, I found it hard to put down and it's one I'll remember for quite some time. Would be interesting to see this as a movie.
Lisey's story is not one of King's finer reads. It was slow-going getting into the plot and I hoped it would become more worthwhile by being a major tie-in to the Dark Tower series but this book isn't very relevant to that. There are elements to this story that are very interesting but there's so much to read through just to get to those parts
A very difficult book to read as it jumps around way to much to be able to keep track of what is happening - is a very slow read.
wonderful book. One of those that I still remember and want to re-read
Lisey's Story started off slow at first, but once you started to understand the characters it was hard to put down.
Boring.
A book about the complex struggles of the human mind.
I absolutely fell in love with this book and the characters. This is by far my favourite Stephen King novel.
