This book is essentially a rant against the Brush government and is very much out of date now.
Unfortunately it is very negative and offers only minimal solutions to problems in the U.S.

LOVED this book... a bit dated now, but it still an interesting read and beneficial read!!

I appreciated this book more after I finished it than when I was reading it. I was expecting Iacocca to offer page after page of insightful anecdotes with hard-and-fast advice on how to be a leader. What I read in the first half of the book was Iacocca's extreme disappointment in the Bush administration's lack of leadership in governing the country. Iacocca does introduce his nine Cs of leadership in the first chapter, then revisits them in a later chapter, with examples. Here's my take: Iacocca doesn't offer a list of Dos, Don'ts and Maybes for being an effective leader? he holds up a mirror for us to see what's become of our society ? and our culture ? and beseeches us to draw from our experiences and lessons of history when making decisions that impact our futures.
