This has become one of my all-time favorite shows. As always for a BBC production, the costumes and sets are wonderful, and the acting is superb. I thought the plots in the second season were even a bit more in-depth than the first (which were very good themselves). My only complaint from the first season involved Thomas Brown's character (very cliched and one-dimensional). I was glad to see more depth and shading given to him in season two. This is a gentle series that nevertheless incorporates real drama and character development, building from one episode to the next. A wonderful show full of surprises and interesting relationships. A+
