I remember when I bought the first book in the series a couple years ago, I was a fellow goth girl fantasising about a vampire boyfriend (I still do!) so of course I loved it.
I have the first four books and loved those, then I kind of forgot about them while waiting for number five and read other stuff.
I saw this in the library yesterday and said why not and got it.
Remembering the series of my previous goth stage, I thought I'd love it but it was sadly disapointing.
The characters are not what I remember, they are 2-D (but I still swoon over Alexander like I did since the first book) but Raven annoyed me.
Yes, we know you're an independent goth girl who doesn't care what people think. Yes, we know how hot your boyfriend is, no need to say it three times a paragraph. It just seemed that the author made the characters in cookie-cutter goth boxes, slapped some black make up on them and said "You're done!"
It was ammaturish, I expected more. I really love the concept and could of been great. I really wanted to add this to my favourites.
Honestly... The books plot was her boyfriend's best friend from Romania had a big crush on her best friend Becky.
It could have been so much better.
I am so far LOVING these series now im looking for cryptic behavior which is number 8 of these series.
I'm pretty sure this whole series was written before Twilight. But these books are WAY better then the Twilight series!
I can't begin to tell you how funny these books are. It's Gilmore Girls meets vampires. It has some of the most interesting and halarious character interactions I have read in modern teen fiction. The dialogue while VERY cheesy, it's also used well and in the right places, that instead of a campy badly written tale, rather is quick witted and side splitting funny. I can't wait for the next one.
I love this book! If your looking for your classic vampire, like the ones that sleep in coffins and turn into bats, but with an Edward twist like he doesn't feed on humans he has ties to blood banks and ties goes to the butcher for meat that is rare, than you have got to read this book. I mean like seriously this is the classic type of vampire human romance.
