This is a book that is hard to fit into a generic genre. The first chapters introduce the three main characters separately. There is a narrative building but like Jay Harper's character, understanding the story only slowly comes together. When the three characters finally were together the narrative was full speed ahead. I read the last half of the book in one sitting, then read the second book in the series in one day. So if you find yourself hooked on the book and series, make sure you reserve a stretch of time to keep reading, it's that type of story.

a wonderful book for anyone who enjoys the mysticism surrounding Angels, the apocryphal books of the bible, the Cathars and ancient European history. I had a hard time with the first 50 pages, but it's worth sticking it out. I breezed through it and then read the 2nd book in a few days. Can hardly wait for the 3rd book. Equally interesting premise on angelology as found in Danielle Trussoni's books.

I too really, really liked this book. I especially appreciated the author's portrayal of Marc. So very tender and kind. I felt like I needed to go to Lausanne to watch over him. Very well done and definitely worth the read. Mind you, I did figure out a thing or two half way through the book. Alas, this is one of the best reads I have had in a while.

I, too, loved this book! Very unusual read. And it is not predictable, which was wonderful. So often plots are figured out about 75% of the way through. Not this one!

Talk about a must read! It was a little confusing at first but soon enough all the pieces fell into place. This is a page turner, I couldn't put it down! I hope this book is made into a movie, it would be worth watching.

Excellent book! A bit of Dan Brown, Simon Toyne and Tom Sniegoski all rolled into one well written thriller. Well done Jon Steele! Definitely recommend this book.
