Extensive descriptions of freshwater fish. The saltwater descriptions are not as extensive in comparison but saltwater tanks have become less popular in recent years. There is an extensive section on fish related diseases and how to set up tanks. One thing I wish these books would mention was a section on sustainability and how the impact of taking stock from the wild has on the environment. There is some mention of this in the book, but it doesn't go into detail. That being said most of the varieties mentioned in the book are bred in captivity and there is a strong emphasis on the health of the fish that you take care of for their sake and not for the financial loss incured by your fish dying. In the past books emphasized the loss of fish in financial terms.
