I cannot for the life of me explain why I like Meatloaf.
The songs typically cover rock and roll, motorcycles, women, or some combination of all three, so there's not a lot of meat to the words (no pun intended). His singing isn't the best in the world, and the combination with the back-up singers sounds like an off-Broadway rock opera. It's a corn fest.
So maybe that's why I like it? It's a guilty pleasure on paper, since I'm hesitant to talk about the Bat Out of Hell albums with people without getting confused looks. Yeah, he's a ham on these, but it's so fun to listen to when driving around--preferably on the interstate when I can go fast.
