"Alexia Tarabotti is laboring under a great many social tribulations. First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette. Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire -- and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate. With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London's high society? Or will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart?"--Amazon.com, viewed February 23, 2012.

I love seeing this story come to life with visuals. It was very well adapted to manga/comic format.

"Soulless" is a manga-styled comic that takes place in Victorian London. The protagonist is a female named Alexia Tarabotti. Alexia is something known as a "soulless." In this comic, there are dangerous ocurrences that involve supernatural creatures such as vampires and werewolves. Meanwhile, in Alexia's life, there is a person of interest known as Lord Conall Maccon, who hails from Scotland and is a werewolf.

My thoughts were that while there was an interesting storyline told, I felt as if it was out of focus in comparison to the romantic sub-plot between Alexia and Conall Maccon. There were also a lot of romantic scences between them that were quite "smutty" and unnecessary, and it looked as if not a lot of development was put in their relationship. Also, my qualms with Alexia's character design was that she was like the stereotypical attractive and busty manga female character. However, the storyline involving the lives of supernaturals being at stake was worth reading into, however, I felt as if that part of the story was neglected. In the end, I think "Soulless" was okay, but it could have been a whole lot more than just the romance portion. However, I will not try to stop others from wanting to read this book and wanting to look into it more.

If you've read the books, this is a fantastic and thrilling accompaniment! Just as many laughs and gasps of surprise as the original series! Highly recommend for members of the Parasol Protectorate!

A fun manga to read. If you love the supernatural, then come meet the preternatural.
