Volume 28 is unimpressive. The entire premise is silly and Emerald is still unlikable.
That doesn't change much with Volume 29 either, and I'm not fond of the villain for the series, but at least they do an okay job of tying him back into old stories, and serve as a bridge for new ones. That said, Volume 29 (which is not available in-system) is very rushed and suffers from terrible pacing, all the way up to the end.
