The lush illustrations of this book would spark any adult or child's imagination but the titles and beginning sentences on each colourful two page spread will set any child's imagination running. Each time you share this book with a child they will be able to imagine and share new stories.

The pictures are beautiful and provide readers with ample materials to create their own stories. Children can use their imagination to fill in the gaps where the lost words leave off. This book is great for reading aloud with kids.

An enchanted storybook, a whispering fox, and a girl with a dazzling imagination are the main ingredients in this wild and whimsical read. Disappointed that the magical book she borrowed from her teacher contains only pictures, a little girl (prompted by a mischievous fox) composes her own stories to accompany the book's lavishly surreal illustrations. But for each captivating mixed-media spread, she provides only the beginning of a tale, subtly encouraging children to make up endings of their own. Recurring images and hints of familiar folklore help to draw readers deeper into this unusual and unforgettable book. Picture books newsletter November 2015

"Start with a few simple words and imagine from there. Remember: beginnings, middles and ends of stories can always be changed and imagined differently."
