A movie for a movie connoisseur who enjoys an exploration of the darker and sicker side of humanity. It's well done, but not an 'enjoyable' ride and even suggests sympathy, understanding and even justification for the behaviour of serial killers! Definitely, it's not a 'thriller'. It's a dark, macabre drama, which I ended up turning it off! Please note: I'm inclined to watch a wide range of movies, but though this is well acted, I found it sick, demented and a waste of film!

Uniquely unusual, slowly mesmorizing, effectively acted,
increasingly disturbing,.. and very well done.

Kev's PICkS: For a macabre double-hitter, I recommend seeing "Miss Meadows", right after viewing "Dark Tourist".

(And please let me know what you think ?)

Creepy, disturbing movie.......which is what I think they were shooting for, here. Fairly well done, in that regard. Michael Cudlitz was very good as the lead and Melanie Griffith was effective as the over-the-hill waitress. Aside from the psycho killer aspect, there is a constant undertone of cruelty displayed in this move, so be aware of that, before you take it out of the library.

I really enjoyed this movie. It's not for everyone though. The pace is incredibly slow which i think most people will lose patience. I thought it built tension well and in the end was done fairly decent. Melanie Griffith was perfect as the desparate townie. Not sure why she got billing over the amazing acting of Michael Cudlitz. Cudlitz was frighteningly spot on with his portrayal. You really believed him. (Disturbingly so)
