Brewer discloses his struggles and triumphs as he was learning to meditate and found meditation a key to loosening the grip of cravings: once you can unhook yourself from the drama playing out in your mind, you can begin to observe how it makes you feel and make better choices as you now have the space to consider consequences. Some parts sound like an infomercial for Buddhism so take the general dynamics and apply it to your life no matter what your faith. The last chapter (Chapter 10) wraps it all up nicely so if you don't have time to read the entire book, make sure you read this chapter.
