Event description

Come learn about the genealogy databases available at the library. This class will focus on three of the twelve databases available at any of the 12 libraries in the parish: Ancestry Library Edition, Family Search, and Heritage Quest. Ancestry Library Edition holds billions of records and can be accessed inside any of the twelve libraries.  FamilySearch is the largest non-profit genealogy database, with over 20.5 billion records available for free anywhere, but the library does have affiliate access inside the twelve branches, meaning access to more original records. Further Heritage Quest is a database that can be accessed from your home with your library card. This class will demonstrate how to begin your journey into using these online databases so that you can begin digging up your story.

This class is free and open to the public. Seating space is limited to adults. Registration is required. The library welcomes people of all abilities to programs. If you think you may need special accommodations, please contact us early for assistance, and we will do our best to provide the requested services.
